The structure of the model rules was discussed on many occasions by the Study Group and the joint Compilation and Redaction Team. It was accepted from an early stage that the whole text would be divided into Books and that each Book would be subdivided into Chapters, Sections, Sub-sections (where appropriate) and Articles. In addition the Book on specific contracts and the rights and obligations arising from them was to be divided, because of its size, into Parts, each dealing with a particular type of contract (e.g. Book IV.A: Sale). All of this was relatively uncontroversial.
