When the insurer makes payment of the first or single premium a condition of formation of the contract or of the beginning of cover, that condition shall be without effect unless

(a)

the condition is communicated to the applicant in writing using clear language and warning the applicant that he lacks cover until the premium is paid, and

(b)

a period of two weeks has expired after receipt of an invoice which complies with requirement (a) without payment having been made.
