Work in Fishing Convention, 2007
Declaration of Work in Fishing Convention Compliance
Issued under the authority of the Government of the Netherlands
by
the Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management
With respect to the provisions of the Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (hereinafter C188) of the International Labour Organization, which has been ratified by the Netherlands on
November 15th 2019, the following referenced fishing vessel:

is maintained in accordance with Part VII of the Convention.
The undersigned declares, on behalf of the abovementioned competent authority, that:
- a.
the fishing vessel has been inspected on compliance with the following matters relating to the provisions on living and working conditions on board fishing vessels of C188:
- (i)
responsibilities of fishing vessel owners, skippers and fishers
- (ii)
minimum age
- (iii)
medical certification
- (iv)
manning, including qualifications of the skipper
- (v)
hours of rest
- (vi)
crew list
- (vii)
fishers work agreement, including, inter alia, social security and protection in cases of work-related sickness, injury or death, as set out in Annex II to C188
- (viii)
repatriation
- (ix)
recruitment and placement of fishers, including private employment agencies
- (x)
payment of fishers
- (xi)
accommodation
- (xii)
food and water
- (xiii)
medical care
- (xiv)
occupational safety and health
- b.
the Netherlands
- (i)
has ratified the Private Employment Agencies Convention, 1997 (hereinafter C181) of the International Labour Organization
- (ii)
allows private employment agencies, that provide the services referred to in paragraph 1(b) of Article 1 of C181, to operate in its fishing sector, and
- (iii)
has allocated the following fishing vessel owner responsibilities under C188 to such agencies: sign the fisher’s work agreement as the fisher’s contracting party and fulfil that party’s obligations under the agreement while the fishing vessel owner shall be liable should the agency default on these obligations;
- c.
the Netherlands has allowed the following flexibility if any.

the vessel was found in compliance with the provisions of C188 concerning living and working conditions on board fishing vessels.
