Where ownership passes from the lessor to a new owner, the new owner of the goods is substituted as a party to the lease if the lessee has possession of the goods at the time ownership passes. The former owner remains subsidiarily liable for the non-performance of the obligations under the contract for lease as a personal security provider.

A reversal of the passing of ownership puts the parties back in their original positions except as regards performance already rendered at the time of reversal.
(3)
The rules in the preceding paragraphs apply accordingly where the lessor has acted as holder of a right other than ownership.
