A keeper of a motor vehicle is accountable for the causation of personal injury and consequential loss, loss within VI. — 2:202 (Loss suffered by third persons as a result of another's personal injury or death), and loss resulting from property damage (other than to the vehicle and its freight) in a traffic accident which results from the use of the vehicle.

‘Motor vehicle’ means any vehicle intended for travel on land and propelled by mechanical power, but not running on rails, and any trailer, whether or not coupled.
