In this article the author discusses the interpretation of arbitral awards under Dutch law, including the cases in which interpretation is possible and how an arbitral tribunal should interpret its award. In contrast to many other arbitration laws, the Dutch Arbitration Act does not contain a provision on interpretation. Art. 1058 paragraph 3 of the Dutch Code of Civil Procedure (DCCP) regulates the termination of the arbitral tribunal's mandate and is mandatory law.
